Slimbridge, Gloucestershire (St John the Evangelist)
A large church with a very tall spire, a prominent landmark in the Vale of Berkeley. The church is mainly medieval, with much of the interior dating from the 13th century. It was described by Verey and Brooks as "probably the best example in the county of the Early Gothic style of the C13." The church was restored by Francis Niblett in 1844-46, who added the clerestory.
